About

Samantha is a New York-based scenic & fine artist.

Since a young age, Samantha has always known the arts would remain a fundamental part of her life.

As a scenic artist & charge, she has worked on and overseen productions across the country — partnering with companies such as Pink Sparrow, Williamstown Theatre Festival, VDA Productions, South Coast Repertory, Des Moines Metro Opera, The Huntington, and more. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Boston University, and most recently, moved from student to educator. Samantha took on the role of Interim Scenic Charge and Paint Shop Supervisor for Emerson College, where she helped her students navigate the sampling process, shop maintenance, and a variety of new techniques to bring main stage productions to life. She is now continuing her freelance career in New York City, hopping between theatrical endeavors, murals, fabrication, and beyond.

In her personal art, Samantha is most notably influenced by the surrealists of the 20th century. By exploring the female body and nature through dreamlike landscapes, distorted figures, and pearlescent embroidery, Samantha’s work embodies a world of altered reality and unfiltered emotion. Her work continues to evolve and explore the concept of self, and a relationship to nature — both human and wild. Samantha takes on a limited number of commissions each year. If you would like to get in touch regarding a commission, a print, or a special project, please reach out via email.
